Maradona and her daughter

Nearly five years after Maradona's death, his daughter Dalma Maradona talked about the details of her father's death.

Dalma Maradona made these remarks on the premiere of the documentary "Maradona, The Uncommon Trial". The work produced by the DGO platform will premiere on July 10, 2025, promising to reveal the most secret details of the judicial process that began after Maradona's death. "We are waiting for this (criminal) sentence, but they have been under social trial."

Dalma Maradona pointed directly at Maradona's medical and legal team. She mentioned the leaked recordings between doctors and lawyers, many of whom were involved in a case that, although entering the trial stage, was eventually declared invalid due to a judicial scandal in Argentina.

This four-episode documentary series, directed by the DNEWS news team, reconstructs the last moments of Maradona's life and delves into the manslaughter trial involving several medical professionals. The trial was declared invalid after a judge was revealed to have dominated an audio-visual project in the case and violated the principle of justice.

In addition to Dalma Maradona and her sister Jainina Maradona, Maradona's sister Rita Maradona, ex-wife Veronica Oheda, lawyer Fernando Brando, former agent and close friend Guillermo Coppola, and friend Mariano Isrelitt. The film also includes the defendant's defense attorney, such as Julio Rivas, the lawyer representing doctor Leopoldo Luke, and Miguel Angel Pieri, the defense attorney of medical coordinator Mariano Peroni.

The documentary reveals unknown details during Maradona's move to Tigray's residence, his deteriorating physical and emotional state, and the lack of medical coordination that played a decisive role in his last days.

Dalma Maradona revealed: "He always has a circle that doesn't get along well with us. To be honest, communication is very difficult, and we don't know what happened in the last few hours of his life. They don't let us be there."

The report delved into the minutes and seconds of medical care a few days before Maradona's death, accusing alleged negligence and containing undisclosed audio-visual materials, allowing viewers to clearly reconstruct the timeline of the incident. The trial of the death of Maradona involving seven defendants, accused of manslaughter, was declared invalid after a three-month hearing because of a bizarre incident: The judge Hu Liyeta Makintachi, who was in charge of the case, had participated in an audio-visual project on the same case, which undermined judicial justice. The news triggered a scandal that not only invalidated the trial, but also caused Maradona's family to be in a state of waiting and indignation again.

Dalma Maradona concluded: "The trial is a farce. We do not seek revenge, but just justice."

Despite the withdrawal of the case, the documentary insists that society has made its own ruling and that social trials are merciless to those who have been accused of Maradona's negligence in her last days.

"Maradona, The Uncommon Trial" proposes a tough, direct and legal perspective. Through private testimonies, judicial archives, expert analysis, and exclusive news material, the series presents as authoritative documents that understand the scale of judicial and family scandals surrounding Maradona's death.

The documentary, aired weekly through the DGO platform, is expected to spark new discussions in public opinion and once again raise a question that thousands of Argentines are still asking: Who is really taking care of Maradona's last days of his life?

"Maradona, the Uncommon Trial" premiered on DGO on July 10. This report not only seeks legal answers, but also works to reconstruct a story about pain, abandonment and struggle for justice.
