According to World Sports, La Liga Villarreal Club Chairman Roiger talked about the team's signing of former Arsenal player Thomas this summer in an interview. Thomas will be tried in September this year on allegedly committing five counts of rape and one count of sexual assault. The signing of Villarreal has caused huge controversy.

Roiger said: "Thomas is in judicial proceedings, and he has defended himself to deny the alleged behavior.
