British media: Many Premier League clubs fail to chase David, Naples and Juventus will compete for him
According to British media reports, many Premier League clubs failed to chase Lille forward David, and Napoli and Juventus will compete for him.
Six Premier League clubs have fought for David's joining, but the Lille striker now appears ready to refuse to travel to England. Several Premier League giants including Chelsea, Manchester United, Tottenham, Newcastle, Liverpool and West Ham have expressed interest in the Canadian scorer and hope to sign him in a free transfer this summer.
However, Serie A champion Naples has made a specific offer to David's agent, and Juventus has joined the competition, and the two Italian giants are expected to launch a fierce bidding war. Despite this, Premier League clubs still have a chance to take action at the last minute. However, David doesn't necessarily focus only on joining Premier League teams, and has previously expressed his desire to play football elsewhere in Europe. Barcelona, Atletico Madrid and Inter Milan have also expressed interest in him.
David spent five high-productive seasons in Lille, France, and scored continuously in the Ligue 1 season. This season, he ranked fourth in the Ligue 1 scorer list. The Canadian international announced his departure decision ahead of the final game of the season, and he allegedly believes he has achieved enough in France to prepare to switch to another top European club.
Tottenham had tried to sign David in January, but he chose to evaluate the summer option after fulfilling his contract with Lille. Newcastle is also very eager to introduce David to make up for Isaac's substitute position. With Wilson about to leave the team, David's versatility is very attractive to Newcastle, who lacks people in the frontcourt.
David's team was impressed by Porter's plan for West Ham, but Chelsea was less attractive because the Blues' forward line was already overcrowded. Liverpool have turned their attention to other forward targets, with Frankfurt's Ekitic being their current center of choice.
Manchester United is more cautious in their interest, and David is not the type of striker Amorin hopes to introduce. However, Manchester United may change their minds when Ipswich's Drapp rejects Ineos's program to switch to Chelsea and Garnacho is close to leaving Old Trafford.
If Naples successfully sign David, they will have an impressive start in the summer transfer window, as Garnacho is also another major target for them. Donetsk miners' Sudakov has also been watched by several Premier League clubs including Manchester City, Tottenham and Bournemouth, and he may also join Naples in the coming months.
