Fenerbahce Chairman Kocci said in an interview that he had hoped to sign Sebalos this summer.

Chairman Fenerbahce said: "Cebalos is ready to join. However, the total cost of his four-year contract is as high as 48 million euros. We do not want to let Fenerbahce suffer economic losses before the election. Therefore, we gave up this transfer."

He also added: "We will sign a '8-position' player in the winter break based on the team's needs."

This summer, Fenerbahce signed Real Madrid former player Asensio from Paris Saint-Germain, and the contract was signed until 2028.
