According to German Sky Sports, Bayern's 17-year-old Lennart Karl's contract will be automatically renewed next year until 2029.

The media revealed: "The contract will be automatically extended to 2029 on his 18th birthday (February 22, 2026) and will be converted into a professional contract, including salary adjustments. His current contract is valid until 2028."

"The new contract will not contain a release clause. Karl has no intention of leaving Bayern next summer. His goal is to achieve a breakthrough at Bayern, and his advisor Michael Ballack also supports this plan. Karl's personal short-term goal is to participate in the 2026 World Cup."
