Spanish youth training coordinator Francis Hernandez was a key figure in successfully convinced Yamal and Wyson to choose to play for Spain. In an interview with OKDIARIO, he explained in detail how the two young players made the decision.

Hernandez said: "I tried to show Yamal and his family all the resources we can provide for his comprehensive development and the future plans we have made for him. I believe this helped Lamin decide to continue his career and work with the Spanish national team." He also mentioned that although the Moroccan Football Association also had very good professionals fighting for Yamal, Yamal finally chose Spain.

Regarding Wyson's situation, Hernandez recalled that Wyson was captain of the Dutch U19 national team at the time and that he was about to be called up to the adult national team: "Given his level, we think it is necessary to take action to ensure he joins our team."

Hernandez and his team explained to Wyson their plans for him, including getting him into the higher age group in advance. Once the nationality issue was resolved, Wyson was immediately recruited into the Spanish U21 national team.
