Windhorst: I heard that some people signed endorsement contracts without showing up. James did the exact opposite.
Today, ESPN reporter Brian Windhorst commented on Lakers forward James' "Decision 2" Hennessy advertisement on a TV show.
"Well, we've heard of the 'no-face-free' endorsement contract, which is the exact opposite, which not only requires LeBron to complete commercial endorsement, but also touches a taboo topic around him for more than a decade. Perhaps the quickest way to end your conversation with LeBron or his close partner from 2010 to 2022 is to bring up the word decision because they've been hurt too much. So LeBron is able to make a joke about retirement, which makes people think more seriously. LeBron can almost joke about decisions now—even if it could bring him a big income—which means he's coming to a career stage where he can laugh at it. It's been 15 years since the decision. But if I told LeBron in 2012 that he would shoot such an ad, he would laugh at me," Windhorst said.
