In the 2025 draft, the Lakers selected forward Adu Tiero, who was 1.99 meters away with the No. 36 draw. After the draft, General Manager Pelinka said when talking about the vacancy in the center position that the team will not rest until the right candidate is found.

"After the draft, we will have a deep meeting to study (the management office) to prepare for the free agent market. As I said at the end of the season, we know one of the things that must be addressed is center position, and that will obviously be one of the key points when we open the free agent market phase. The free agent market is about to open, so we are looking forward to putting our efforts into making sure that all the needs on the roster are met and giving Redick the configuration needed to make sure that the team is strong next season," Pelinka said.
