Wenpang: Simmons market value has been declining now that he can only accept basic salary or even unsecured contracts
Ben Simmons was still in free agent two months before the start of the 2025-26 season. Famous reporter Vincee recently stated on ESPN's program that Bency may have to accept an insured contract.
Wen Pang said: "Simmons may sign with a team that values his defensive ability, but he may have to accept a non-guaranteed contract. If you think of him as a defensive big man, the market will be a little bigger. The reality is that he can only expect a basic salary contract, with a base salary of about $4 million this year, but he may even be forced to accept an unguaranteed contract, which means he needs to fight for a position through training camp and may not be able to determine his position until the middle of the season. If this is the case, he may be able to wait a few more months to see where there is a chance for him and join a team that needs a point guard."
"At the end of the day, Ben Simmons' market value has been falling sharply for years. It's September now, and he hasn't found a security contract, which says it all." Wen Pang said.
Previous reports said that Simmons is not sure whether he still wants to play.
