Crawford, a former NBA player and basketball commentator, talked about the adaptation between Durant and the Rockets when interacting with fans on the Reddit website.

Crawford wrote: "I think KD will be very suitable for the Rockets. He is one of the few all-time players who have not disrupted the rhythm of his teammates in his career."

When talking about which team has made the most progress, Crawford wrote: "My intuition tells me that the Rockets have made the most progress because of the success of their young players plus getting players like Kevin Durant. I have always been a fan of Durant, and I have high expectations for his performance at Phoenix, but it was not successful in the end, but I think this transfer might be the right choice." The Rockets traded with the Suns in the offseason, trading Jaylen Green and Dillon Brooks for Durant, which is considered the biggest move in the 2025 NBA offseason. The Rockets also introduced Dorian Finney Smith and Clint Capela while retaining most of the role players. Crawford said KD can be integrated into any system, writing: "He is one of the few players who can seamlessly connect, Stephen Curry is the other one, they can play well in any system without affecting the performance of others, so he can adapt to any system. He can choose to go alone or play with the team. That's why he is so good."
