According to ESPN reporter Shams, Jordan Goodwin became the Suns' 14th standard contract recipient, and the Suns chose to waive Jared Butler.

Jake Weinbach forwarded Shams news and wrote: "Jordan Goodwin was awarded the 14th position (standard contract) by the Suns, which means Jared Butler was waived by the Suns. Butler, a 25-year-old guard, performed well in the Suns' preseason games, and many teams in the league should be interested in him."

In this year's preseason, Butler averaged 15.5 points, 3.3 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 1.8 steals per game. In the victory over the Lakers, Butler made 14 of 25 shots, 5 of 9 three-pointers, 2 of 6 free throws, scoring 35 points, 7 rebounds, 9 assists and 1 steal.
