Talking about performance, Gillespie said: "I think I have always had this trait, but my experience at Villanova University really taught me a lot - learning to feel the rhythm of the game, seizing the opportunities given to me on the defensive end, and also knowing when to take my own shots and when to create shooting opportunities for my teammates."

So far this season, Gillespie has averaged 10.4 points, 3.9 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 1.1 steals per game.
